Bunnings insulation installation scheme

Bunnings Insulation Installation Scheme!  You can now come in to Bunnings stores and request a quote to have new insulation installed in your rental properties and homes that will comply with the new laws.  It’s that easy!

By July 2019 all publicly owned rental properties will require upgrades to ceiling and underfloor insulation (where it is practical to do so).  Also by July 2019, all rental properties (public and privately owned) will require 10 year smoke alarms to be installed. 

The Bunnings Insulation Installation Scheme was rolled out to stores on July 1st 2016

How will it work?

You will have 3 options to get a quote:

  1. Phone – supplier contact numbers)
  2. Internet – Bunnings.co.nz
  3. In-store form – tear off pad with request for quote
    • This form can be completed in store and handed to any Trade TM
    • Your details are input to the online form on Bunnings.co.nz by the Trade TM

What happens next?

  1. Once the quote request is received, you will be contacted by an Assessor from the selected supplier.                       
  2. Assessor books in time for site visit
    • If property is deemed compliant – you pay $50 for compliance certificate (assessor will invoice you).
    • If property is deemed non-compliant – quote is given  and job is booked.
  3. Once job is booked
    • If you have selected Fibreglass, the GForce installer will come in to the Bunnings store and purchase insulation on the GForce  trade account.
    • If you have selected Polyester, insulation comes direct from Autex (stores will be remunerated monthly by Support Centre for Autex jobs).
  4. What if you choose both options? (i.e. polyester underfloor and fibreglass ceiling) this will be picked up the GForce installer.
  5. Job is carried out and you will be invoiced by installer.

                                                               

Upon payment, you receive a compliance certificate

 

** Smoke alarms will also be included in the quote (as they are part of the new regulations).  If you provide the smoke alarm it will be installed free of charge **
